Recently I’ve been playing around with Adobe Captivate, a content authoring package for creating interactive e-learning course material.
The software allows you to turn your PowerPoint presentations into clickable, drag-and-droppable, multiple-choice-questionable, multimedia e-learning. It’s not cheap – at all – (€1,068!) but it does come in a useful “Subscription” model, which at $19 a month seems okay to me.
Instead of creating a nonsense course filled with “Example text here” and “Example question there,” I thought I’d create something useful, so I did! An e-learning course to act as part portfolio, part Digital CV
Here’s the result of my first trial. There are many creases to be ironed out still yet, but as a first version I’m quite pleased.
n.b. The course at the moment is about 20MB, so please give it a few minutes to load!
